The 7 Up's of Life

1) Wake Up
-Decide to have a good day. Today is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him" (Revelations 19:7)

2) Dress up
-The best way to improve your looks is to dress up. " the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7)

3) Quiet up
-Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so he must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction." (Proverbs 13:3)

4) Stand Up
-Stand up for what you believe in. Stand for something or you fall for anything. "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." (Galatians 6:9-10)

5) Look up
-Look up to the Lord. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Philippians 4:13)

6) Reach up
-Reach up for something higher. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

7) Lift Up
-Lift up your prayers. "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."

Another Day Closer In Poplar

Just about every week I cross paths with a man who walks around Poplar. He always says to me "Another day closer, another day closer!" He is completely right. It is another day closer to our Lord Jesus Christ's coming. Are we ready? How do we know when he will come?

The Lord told his Apostles "But of that day, and hour, no one knoweth; no, not the angels of God in heaven, but my Father only." (Matthew 24:36) How are we supposed to know when he will come if he says that "no one knoweth"?

Christ has given us signs. Like the signs on a road that help us reach our destination, the signs that Christ has given us in the scriptures help us to know when he will come again. They guide us to how we can be prepared for things to come. Some of the signs can be pretty scary. Like "the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be shaken." (Matthew 24:29) But Christ promises us that as we follow his commandments and live a righteous life we will be protected and have no need to fear the coming of Christ. I look forward to the day that Christ will majestically come again to the world. I know that Christ loves all of us and wants us all to be happy in this life and prepared for his coming. Just always remember "Another day closer, another day closer!"
